This is a very pretty, elegant and understated Silk in Time handmade bridal garter.
- Handmade with a beautiful vintage French, Alencon style lingerie lace described as 'cafe au lait' in colour but with a hint of a very pale peach. This lace dates from the early part of the 20th century and came from a Normandy attic clearance where the contents had been stashed away untouched for nearly one hundred years! The design in the lace includes stylised florals with stitch infills and a softly scalloped lower edge
- The new garter elastic is covered with vintage Japanese silk in a pearly cream which has a gorgeous soft sheen to the fabric
- The garter is made with two layers of lace. At the front, the top layer is finished with a rich cream coloured bow and a single droplet or teardrop pearl in the same colour. At the bottom edge of the top layer but hanging over the bottom layer of lace, there is another bow with three droplet pearls. Around both layers of lace there are occasional groups of three small antique ivory faceted sequins which shimmer when the light bounces of them
- When relaxed this garter measures just under 6.5" from side to side and the depth in total is just over 2". The depth of each layer of lace is 1.25". When worn it will comfortably fit a leg circumference up to approx. 18.5"
This lovely garter will come in its own handmade storage bag with care instructions and lavender pouch.
